It’s been 40 years since a student has represented Cranberry High School at the state level for golf.

Cayden Baker, junior at Cranberry, was seeded 21st at the district championships on Oct. 1. Yet, he finished in sixth place, accomplishing what no other Cranberry student has done since 1982.

“He’s a great young man, a good student, and an excellent role model to his peers,” states Dustin Wenner, boys golf coach and 7th grade science teacher.

States are being held at Penn State University on Oct. 17 and 18.

“I’m nervous about it, but I’m confident I can do well,” says Baker.

Stay the course, play the course. Good luck, Cayden!
