Trout season opens Saturday

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced that trout season opens statewide at 8 a.m. Saturday, with about 3.2 million trout set to be stocked in streams and lakes throughout 2026, including rainbow, brown and brook trout, along with trophy-sized and golden varieties. Additional fish will be provided by cooperative nurseries, and anglers can keep up to five trout daily during the regular season, with continued stocking planned through the spring to ensure abundant fishing opportunities.
