Nursing home workers at eight Valley West Health facilities — including those in Clarion, Oil City and Titusville — have postponed a planned three-day strike to allow time for negotiations with the company this Thursday. Represented by SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, the 750 caregivers are calling on Valley West to bargain in good faith and invest in staff recruitment and retention. The union says the company has failed to negotiate meaningfully over the past three months, prompting workers to issue strike notices. Union leaders said they remain ready to negotiate and expect Valley West to do the same on Oct. 16.
