Leading by example and attending every practice are just two reasons Coach Keith Siverling gave when speaking of the newest student of the week at Cranberry High School.

In recent weeks, Matt Woolcock won first place at a dual cross country meet with North Clarion and Brockway, and second place overall at the Commodore Perry invitational.

“He is hard working, very goal oriented, and is always motivated; he‘s just a very kind person in general,” says Melanie Oliver, assistant boys cross country coach.

When asked how it feels to be the Athlete of the Week, Woolcock said, “It feels good. I really like the recognition.”

Receiving this honor, Woolcock hopes it encourages him to do well and that it inspires others to keep up the hard work.
