At a special meeting Monday, the North Clarion School Board hired Bobbie Freeman and Jodie Burns as co-coaches for varsity volleyball and accepted Freeman’s resignation as JV coach. Other coaching hires included Wendy Dukane for JV volleyball and two cross-country assistants. With no local bids for playground installation, the board approved WillyGoat’s $23,460 offer, with equipment expected by Sept. 15. Enrollment stands at 317 elementary and 295 high school students, with several in cyber programs or at the Career Center. A plan for school-themed door decals was delayed pending a security review, and the district’s oldest tree was recently removed after storm damage. The board’s next meeting is Sept. 11.
