Couple donates Christmas trees to UPMC Northwest

From staff reports

A couple who wishes to remain anonymous has donated 24 red and green LED Christmas trees to UPMC Northwest.

The couple began bringing trees to the hospital in 2020 and has donated additional trees each of the past two years.

Each tree is placed in a special location for optimum viewing.

“These spectacular trees are beautiful and greatly appreciated by our patients, visitors and staff,” UPMC Northwest president Brian Durniok said. “I have heard from staff and patients that the presence of the trees are providing them with peace and comfort during the holiday season.”

A drone video on the Northwest Hospital Foundation website shows the 20-foot-tall trees, each topped with a star.
