Joe Lowrey, 25, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Oil City, entered two photos in the “Readers Digest’s” Sea to Shining Sea photography contest.

Both photos were finalists and one was among 11 chosen to be published in the July issue. Both will appear on the “Readers Digest” website.

Lowrey is the son of Jay and Ann Lowrey, grandson of Larry and Mary Kay Lowrey, and Raymond and Beverly Schwab, all of Oil City. Lowrey is a Cranberry High School graduate. Last year’s photo contest received more than 1,200 entries, according to “Readers Digest” website.

This “quite an accomplishment for a young man … We are all so proud of him,” Mary Kay Lowrey said.
