The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that demolition of a damaged portion of its District 1 regional office on Elm Street in Oil City will begin later this month after a section of the building’s concrete floor was found to have sunk about six inches. The building will close to the public starting March 16 for demolition and renovations, including safety upgrades and repurposing interior space, with most employees working remotely during the roughly four-month closure while construction continues through November.
