Venango County poll workers received refresher training this week in preparation for the Nov. 4 general election. Elections Director Laura Anna said the county’s poll workers have a combined 1,701 years of experience, averaging 38.6 years per polling location. Anna also trained several student poll workers, with more to be trained soon. As of Friday, 3,216 mail-in and absentee ballots had been requested, 3,206 sent, and 1,795 returned. The county currently has 32,767 registered voters — 20,170 Republicans, 8,107 Democrats, and the rest split among independents and minor parties, including Libertarian, Constitution, Green, and even “Jedi” and “Whig.”
