Good Friday Laymen’s service set

The 55th Good Friday Laymen’s Service will be held Friday, April 15, in Oil City.

Breakfast will open at 6 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus hall along Petroleum Street. The worship service will begin at 7 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 100 Central Ave.

Lou Slautterback will preside over the service and Matt LaVerde will serve as worship leader.

Rod Griffin will be the speaker. The Franklin businessman and his wife, Melissa, attend Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church in Franklin.

Steve Luxbacher will direct a men’s choir and Joe Emanuel will accompany the choir. Anyone interested in singing with the choir can contact Luxbacher at sluxbacher@gmail.com.

A choir rehearsal will be held at 9 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Grace United Methodist Church.

The worship service will be broadcast live at 7 a.m. on Oil City’s cable Channel 22 and online at www.graceoilcity.org/worship-service-recordings.

Breakfast tickets are $10 and will be available at the door, or at Friedhaber’s Appliance in Oil City, Somers Family Dentistry in Seneca, B&M Floors in Reno, and Victorian Art and Frame in Franklin.
