Venango County President Judge Matthew Kirtland is accepting letters of interest from Venango County Democrats interested in filling the commissioner seat that will be vacated by Albert Abramovic when he leaves office in early February. According to District Court Administrator Lynn J. Erickson, interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and résumé to her to be forwarded to Kirtland, who has sole authority to make the appointment and has not set a decision timeline. The appointee must be a registered Democrat at the time Abramovic was elected, be of voting age and reside in Venango County. Abramovic, who announced his departure at the end of December, will step down Feb. 1 after a decade as commissioner to become CEO of Forward Lawrence, with letters accepted via email at lynn.erickson@venangocountypa.gov.
