Several Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to a welfare check in the 1300 block of Pittsburgh Road in Sandycreek Township on Monday after a mention was made of weapons being present.
Troopers from the Franklin barracks were requested to check on the welfare of a person at a private residence in the block, a residence which is in close proximity to a canine boarding kennel, state police said in a press release late Monday afternoon.
After the requester “made mention of weapons being present,” additional state police resources were called to assist in contacting the resident “in an abundance of caution,” the press release said.
After an extended period of time, the resident was found to be deceased in the residence, police said.
During this incident, the public was not able to access the boarding kennel.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
