New owners in place at Lively Lane Kennels

New owners are taking over Lively Lane Kennels on Route 322 in Cranberry.

Bert and Donna Kephart, who opened the doors to the business 16 years ago, are selling the kennel to Zach and Emily Bowler of the Parker area.

Donna Kephart said the Bowlers were recommended by friends, and the Bowlers accepted the ownership offer because they were already planning to open a kennel of their own.

“It was an opportunity that we’ve been looking for. It was a perfect opportunity at the perfect time,” Zach Bowler said.

The Bowlers will take over Monday, and the Kepharts are moving to Arizona before Thanksgiving to be closer to their family.

Emily Bowler is a groomer and Zach Bowler is a contractor.

The kennel handles grooming, boarding and dog daycare, Donna Kephart said.

“We’re going to miss this area, and we love this area,” Bert Kephart said. He also mentioned having wonderful customers over the years.

“We’re really appreciative of (Emily and Zach) taking over. It’s just a blessing,” Bert Kephart said.
