Oil City Arts Council celebrates opening of new gallery space

The Oil City Arts Council officially opened its new gallery and event space — the MAC (Music, Arts and Culture) Event Center — with a mixer and open house on Thursday. Located at 228 Seneca St., the MAC Event Center replaces the smaller Graffiti Gallery and offers a much larger, ADA-accessible venue with two levels, loft rooms, a ramp, and a small performance stage. Rebranded to reflect its broader mission, the space will host not only art shows, but also concerts, classes, fundraisers, receptions, and private parties. The council hopes the multi-use center will become its central hub and a vibrant gathering space for artists, musicians, writers, and the wider community. Council members say they’re excited to fill an empty storefront and bring more activity to downtown Oil City.
