The City of Oil City is reminding residents to properly dispose of wipes so as to avoid clogging sewage lines.
In a news release, the city reminded all residents to throw wipes in the trash after using them and not to flush them down the toilet.
“Currently, many people are disposing of wipes by flushing them in their toilets. This practice culminates in sewage lines being clogged and, at times, creating backups in sewage lines and basements…The City asks that residents be more diligent and considerate of themselves and their neighbors with the use of wipes,” the news release said.
