Oil City woman charged with hindering an investigation

An Oil City woman, 32-year-old Gladys Calero, has been charged with hindering prosecution after police said she told her 6-year-old daughter not to speak about a sexual assault involving Abel Calero-Rodriguez, 33. The child disclosed the assault during a forensic interview despite her mother’s instructions. Calero-Rodriguez faces multiple felony charges, including indecent assault of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor, and remains jailed without bail. Calero was also arraigned and placed in Venango County Jail, unable to post bail, with her preliminary hearing set for Sept. 3.
