Oil Region photo contest winners announced

The winners have been announced in the Oil Region Photography Contest hosted by the Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry and Tourism.

In the amateur division Faces & Places category, Adam Rupp of Oil City won first place for his photo of the Wye Bridge and Nancy McFetridge of Oil City won second place for her photo of the Center Street Bridge with a youth playing in the water underneath. In the amateur division History & Heritage category, Rupp won both first and second place for photos of Petroleum Centre Station. The first place entry showed the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad on the tracks.

In the professional division Faces & Places category, Michael Henderson, of Titusville, won first place for his photo of “Natasha” on the water. Second place went to Venice Lewis of Oil City for “Sunset on Egypt.” Henderson won both first and second place in the professional division History & Heritage category for his photo of the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad in Oil Creek State Park and some rusty oil field equipment.

The alliance may use the entries in future editions of the Oil Region Visitor Guide, brochures or other printed or digital format to promote the Oil Region as a tourist destination.
