Two Meadville-area vape and tobacco shops were raided Thursday after public complaints led to the discovery of illegal drugs being sold, according to the Meadville City Police Department. Officers from Meadville and Titusville, along with state agents, executed search warrants at Meadville Tobacco and Vape and Tobacco King and Vape, seizing marijuana, nitrous oxide, hallucinogenic substances, and $32,000 in cash. The raids followed a compliance check the previous day that revealed both stores were selling products violating state drug laws and selling tobacco to individuals under 21. Police also noted that over the past year, several parents had reported their children becoming sick after purchasing items from the two shops.
