Thirty-two regional teams competed in the Bash at the Berry Dome VEX robotics competition on Saturday at Cranberry Area High School.
Two-team alliances from Franklin, Valley Grove, DuBois, Redbank Valley, East and West Forest, Venango Catholic and Venango Technology Center participated in an autonomous and driver-controlled tower takeover competition.
Franklin teams 814G and 814F paired to defeat their opposing alliance 57-6 in the best-of-one finals. The Franklin teams qualified for the western Pennsylvania state finals on March 6 at Clarion University.
Other judged awards went to the following: Sportsmanship, 40358C (East Forest); Judges, 14082A (Rocky Grove); Design, 25455C (Cranberry); and Excellence, 15801B (DuBois).
