Stop littering

Ahead of the spring kitten season, several cat clinics have been scheduled.

Spay neuter clinics

Clarion P.A.W.S. in Shippenville is scheduling for its Feb. 17 and March 3 clinics.

The cost is $45 for males and $65 for females. The cost includes rabies shot, flea drops, ear cleaning and treatment if needed, antibiotic injection and pain injection.

Message the rescue through its Facebook page or call (814) 229-1231 to get on the schedule.

“We fill up quickly,” the rescue posted. “Please stop those spring litters by fixing now…there are not enough homes.”

The rescue posted last week that it was over “catpacity” and was not accepting any new residents for the foreseeable future.

Another cat clinic scheduled

Regina Martin with Hog Heaven Rescue Farm posted about a low-cost cat clinic scheduled for Feb. 19 on the group’s Facebook page.

Previous clinics have cost $65 per cat, which includes exam, pain meds, spay/neuter, rabies and females must have an e-collar. The colors cost $5.

Call (814) 425-1850 to get on the schedule.

Deer girl

Leah M. Anson, a volunteer with Precious Paws Animal Rescue in Franklin, posted this week on Facebook about Bambi.

Bambi

“My sweet PPAR foster Bambi is looking for her forever home. She is the sweetest little girl ever. All she really wants to do is to be by you and cuddle,” Anson posted.

“She is 9, but still pretty active for an older dog. … She is great with other dogs and cats. I have four other dogs and three cats. She is great with all of them — even my two cranky dogs,” Anson posted.

Meanwhile, Precious Paws President Theresa Weldon posted about having a plan for people’s animals in the event of an emergency or life-changing event.

“I want to ask each of you to think about a plan for your animals, in the event that something should happen to you. I received two calls this week from people being moved into skilled nursing facilities with no one to watch their animals,” Weldon said.

“Plan ahead. Ask friends. Leave a key with someone you trust. Make a will or other arrangements to care for your animals in the event that you can’t. It CAN happen to you,” she said.

SNYPpricing

Meanwhile, Precious Paws’ SNYP clinic also offers low-cost spay and neutering.

Call (814) 671-9827 or email SNYPVenango@gmail.com to schedule an appointment. Vaccines, testing and deworming are available at the time of surgery.
