About 100 people gathered Thursday at Rimersburg Memorial Park to honor the victims and heroes of Sept. 11, 2001. Speakers, including veterans, local officials, and educators, reflected on the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the sacrifices made in the war on terror. Former Clarion County Sheriff Rex Munsee recounted the heroism of Flight 93 passengers who fought back against terrorists, calling them “average Americans who became warriors.” Officials emphasized the importance of teaching future generations about 9/11, remembering the unity the nation once felt, and honoring local emergency responders for their continued service.
