About 50 people dove into freezing waters at Two Mile Run County Park on Saturday for the annual Two Mile Plunge.
This year, teams dressed in costumes that ranged from “plungers” to a homage to Cousin Eddie from National Lampoon’s “Christmas Vacation.”
When the team was asked why this particular costume, the group of friends and Franklin residents said it was mostly due to the robe that Eddie famously wore while emptying his RV’s septic tank in a scene from the 1989 film.
Most people said they participated in the chilly event solely because “it’s fun” and that it raises money for the park.
