Walmart awards grants at grand re-opening event in Cranberry

The Walmart Supercenter in Cranberry held a re-grand opening celebration Friday where associates unveiled a variety of new upgrades to the store.

The celebration featured entertainment and music from a local disc jockey, vendor giveaways and a sampling event.

The Venango Area Chamber of Commerce was also at the event to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

During the celebration, Walmart store manager Allana Kinnear highlighted the store’s transformations as well as the new interactive features now available to customers.

Those features include an updated deli and bakery, expanded apparel section featuring new brands, front end transformation, expanded pet department, a new furniture section and a vision center.

“I can’t wait for customers to see the new additions to our store and the expanded products and services we will offer,” Kinnear said.

Kinnear also presented $9,400 in grants to local nonprofit organizations, including, Angel’s Journey Home, Pennsylvania State Police, Oil City Fire Department, Franklin Police Department and the Oil City South Side Neighborhood Association.
