Local organizers for Wreaths Across America are seeking wreath sponsorships to honor veterans during this year’s wreath-laying ceremonies on Dec. 13, marking the program’s fourth year in Venango County. Six cemeteries—including Pioneer, St. Patrick’s, Graham, Nicklin, Brandon, and new participant Cooperstown—will host ceremonies led by the Venango Chapter of the DAR and several community partners. Each $17 wreath sponsorship helps honor veterans with live balsam wreaths placed on their graves, and the deadline to donate is Dec. 1. Brief ceremonies will take place at noon and early afternoon across the participating cemeteries, followed by volunteer wreath placements. Wreaths Across America, founded in 2007, now honors millions of veterans nationwide and provides information for donations and volunteering at its website.
