Fire severely damages OC residence

A house fire early Saturday afternoon in Oil City resulted in major structure damage and one person needing treatment at UPMC Northwest.

According to Oil City Fire Department Capt. John Rogers, the blaze at 207 W. Fourth St. was reported at 12:04 p.m.

Rogers said the fire caused severe damage to the first and second floors and the attic.

According to Rogers, the cause of the fire was an “unintentional” cooking fire.

A woman, he said, was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and was later released.

According to Venango County 911, other responding fire departments were from Franklin, Seneca, Cornplanter Township and Rouseville. Community Ambulance also responded.
