French Creek Council to host annual Memorial Day Pow Wow

From staff reports

The French Creek Council of The Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow Langundowi Lodge will host the 48th Annual De Un Da Ga Memorial Day Pow Wow at Custaloga Town Scout Reservation in Carlton on Saturday and Sunday, which will directly benefit scholarships to scouts that will help send them to camp and for various service projects at camp.

This event will allow the general public of all ages to witness and even participate in traditional Native American dances, singing and to support a variety of craft vendors.

People will see traditions of Native Americans on grounds that used to be a Native American town.

A concession stand will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at The Langundowi Lodge.

The cost to attend is $5 per day per person, or $10 to camp for the weekend. This includes four dance sessions (afternoon and evening on Saturday and Sunday) craft exhibit, vendors, hot showers and other activities.

Activities run from 10 a.m. until sunset each day.
