Sandycreek Elementary School students are celebrating Johnny Appleseed’s birthday, which is today. Students will be eating apples courtesy of the Sandycreek PTO, and the students will learn some facts, songs and stories about Johnny Appleseed, whose real name was John Chapman. He was born Sept. 26, 1774, and he became famous by planting apple seeds to prevent hunger.
