Brookville community steps up efforts for Laurel Festival parade

The Brookville Area High School Blue Raider Band appears on Saturday for the annual Laurel Festival parade.

Brookville’s nearly 100-year-old Laurel Festival parade was a true community effort, with dedicated volunteers like LuAnn Murray, Denny Bartley, and Marine vet Bob Hannold helping to organize, direct traffic, haul stages, and toss candy. Despite some early-morning hiccups with misplaced street barriers, the festival went on successfully thanks to the hard work of the Laurel Board of Directors, local businesses, fire company members, scouts, and residents who all contributed to keeping the beloved tradition alive.
