OC man facing charges for growing marijuana

From staff reports

An Oil City man has been accused of growing marijuana in his garage and is facing drug charges.

On Nov. 3, Raymond Olon, 62, called Sugarcreek police to report that his care worker had stolen an ounce of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint filed by Sugarcreek police.

The complaint said police had been told Olon was growing marijuana in his garage and that he had a refrigerator containing hashish in a locked bedroom.

Police said that when they entered Olon’s house they saw a large bag of marijuana on the kitchen table, the complaint said. Olon told the officers he had even more marijuana and that he had a medical marijuana card, according to the complaint.

Officers found more marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the bedroom of the house and a “small active marijuana grow” in Olon’s garage with several live and dead marijuana plants, the complaint said.

Olon also told police he was in possession of some other drugs, the complaint said.

Olon was charged with a felony count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled Dec. 9 in Venango County Central Court.
