OC Meals on Wheels still serving community, asks for volunteers

From staff reports

The Oil City Meals on Wheels program has undergone some recent changes but is still serving the community.

The organization has also put out a call for volunteers.

Oil City Meals on Wheels has operated in the Oil City, Seneca and Cranberry areas for more than 40 years.

Last year, the organization lost Janice Graham, who was the secretary-treasurer and last of the original driving forces of the program, when she passed away before Christmas.

A press release from Meals on Wheels said Graham left the program in shape to continue into the future and that some administrative changes have been made.

Anyone who would like to sign up for meals for themselves or loved ones can call Scott Graham at (814) 516-3509 or (814) 670-0896 or Dave and Cathy Voit at (814) 657-1421.

Kathy Voit has prepared the meals for the past 15 years, and the meals are prepared and delivered from the Oil City American Legion hall on Riverside Drive.

Clients receive a lunch, dinner, milk and juice delivered to their homes Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at a cost of $30 a week.

Anyone who would like to volunteer to deliver meals at 10:30 a.m. on those days once a month can call those same phone numbers.
