Oil City woman charged in drug case

An Oil City woman is facing charges after being accused of selling meth and marijuana to confidential informants on three occasions.

Between November 2021 and January 2022, police agents with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General conducted several controlled purchases of meth and marijuana from Kelsey Nichols, 20, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General said in a criminal complaint.

On Nov. 30, 2021, agents conducted a controlled purchase of meth from Nichols at a house on Route 322 in Cranberry Township, the complaint said.

On Dec. 8, 2021, agents again conducted a controlled purchase of meth and marijuana from Nichols in the parking lot of a business in Cranberry Township, the complaint said.

On Jan. 6, 2022, agents made a third controlled purchase of meth from Nichols in the parking lot of another business on Riverside Drive, the complaint said.

Nichols has been charged with three felony counts each of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and criminal use of a communication facility as well as three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

She was arraigned Monday before District Judge Patrick Lowrey and placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. April 5 before Lowrey.
