Rocky Grove students to perform ‘Disney’s Descendants’ this weekend

Rocky Grove High School will bring Disney characters to life this Thursday through Saturday as they put on their production of “Disney’s Descendants.”

Rehearsals began at the end of January, and while the actors and stage crew were preparing for their first dress rehearsal last week, director Jackie Schulz said the audience can look forward to the final scene.

“(The students) get really pumped up with the last scene. The song has a lot of energy, and it’s fun. It gets everybody excited,” Schulz said.

The song, she said, is called “Breakin’ this Down.”

Schulz said a lot of the cast got their costumes from their own closet.

Hayleigh Walter, a Rocky Grove student playing Mal, said her entire costume is hers besides her wig and jacket.

The cast is primarily from Rocky Grove and Franklin high schools, but there are also a few students from other locals districts participating.

Performances are set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Rocky Grove High School auditorium.

Tickets will be on sale at the door at $8 for adults and $6 for students.
