100th Birthday: Betty Frank Sollinger

Betty Frank Sollinger

Betty Frank Sollinger of the Caring Place, formerly of Halyday Run Road, will be turning 100 on Sunday.

She was born to Floyd and Edna Frank, also of Halyday Run Road. Siblings included older brothers, Dick and Chuck Frank and younger sister, Doris Frank Pritchard, all deceased.

Betty is a graduate of Rocky Grove High School, Class of 1943. She previously worked at Oil Well Supply, The Holiday Inn, Venango Federal Bank, and she retired from Corrin Electric.

She was married to Kenneth Sollinger on April 19, 1947, and they celebrated 52 years of marriage before his death in January 2000.

She has three children, Tom (Linda, deceased) Sollinger, of Franklin, Linda (Mick) McClelland, of Vancouver, Washington, and Ed (Junie) Sollinger, of Oil City. Four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren complete the family.

Family and friends are invited to an open house to celebrate Betty on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Oakland United Methodist Church, 1431 State Route 428, Oil City, PA 16301.

The family requests no gifts but welcome cards and/or memories.
