Officials sworn in

Elected officials waited patiently for the ceremony to begin that would officially place them in their positions Monday at the Clarion County Complex in Shippenville. The court had been moved to the complex due to renovations at the Clarion County Courthouse.

From left, Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh, Venango County Register and Recorder Cori Sharp, Venango County Sheriff Eric Foy, Venango County District Attorney Shawn White, Magisterial District Judge Kevin Saragian and Magisterial District Judge Andrew Fish were sworn in by Venango County President Judge Matthew Kirtland on Monday in Courtroom I of the Venango County Courthouse.

Franklin Mayor Doug Baker, second from left, along with council members Travis Young, Christian Marshall and Jim Johnson, from left to right, are sworn in by city Solicitor Brian Spaid (out of frame) for their terms before the January meeting of Franklin City Council on Monday. Young is a newcomer to the board and taking the seat of retiring member Sam Lyons, while Baker, Marshall and Johnson were reelected to their seats. Marshall was also unanimously elected deputy mayor of Franklin by council on Monday.
