3 more charged for break-in at Rocky Grove home

Three more Franklin residents are facing charges in connection with a break-in last month at a Rocky Grove residence.

The three have been identified by Franklin state police as Jayden Haggerty, 23, Damika Whitman-Holt, 23, and Chante Johnston, 22. A fourth person, Juan Hugus, 24, had previously been charged in connection with the incident.

Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint that on Jan. 14, a woman woke to find three people talking in her kitchen and that a strong smell of alcohol permeated the air.

The woman asked the three what they were doing in her home on Gilfillan Street, and Hugus said “no you are in my house,” the complaint said.

Just then, a woman entered the house by the side door and told the trio that they were in the wrong house, at which point they all left, the complaint said.

When police arrested Hugus on Feb. 5, they asked him who the other people in the house were that night, and he identified the others, the complaint said.

All four have been charged with a felony count of criminal trespass-break into structure and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Johnston was arraigned Tuesday, and her preliminary hearing is scheduled Feb. 21 in Venango County Central Court.

Haggerty and Holt haven’t been arraigned, and Hugus was arraigned earlier this month and his preliminary hearing is also Feb. 21 in Central Court.
