Bridge projects to start, another is finished

From staff reports

A portion of Route 38 in Richland Township will be closed for a bridge deck replacement project starting next week.

The bridge is located between the intersection with Rockland Nickleville Road and the intersection with Myers Mills Road.

Daylight closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 27, through Wednesday, July 3.

A long-term closure is expected to be in effect from July 8 to Aug. 9, PennDOT said.

A detour will be posted using routes 322, 338 and 208.

Work will be completed by PennDOT maintenance employees.

Route 308 bridge to reopen

Meanwhile, the bridge that carries Route 308 over Interstate 80 in Clinton Township is expected to reopen today.

The bridge was closed in early April as part of a two-year project by PennDOT to rehabilitate three bridges over Interstate 80 in Venango County.

PennDOT said work will now get underway on the Stone Church Road bridge in Scrubgrass Township. That structure will be closed starting Monday, weather permitting.

Work at that location is expected to take about two months and will include milling existing pavement and pouring a new bridge deck.

A detour will be posted using Indian Rock Road, Rockdale Road and Route 208.

Upgrades to the Rockdale Road bridge over Interstate 80 in Scrubgrass Township were completed in 2018.
