Chamber to honor Klapec Trucking, Library Association

From staff reports

The Venango Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that Klapec Trucking Co. is the Chamber’s 2022 Business of the Year and the Oil Region Library Association is the Community Partner in Business for 2022.

Both Klapec Trucking and the Library Association will be honored along with Citizen of the Year Denise Jones at the Chamber’s annual dinner Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Cross Creek Resort.

The honor for Jones had been announced earlier by the Chamber.

The Chamber, in a press release, said Klapec Trucking has worked hard to earn its reputation as a leader in the trucking industry and was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association with a Fleet Safety President’s Award.

Klapec Trucking has sent seven employees through the Chamber’s Leadership Venango program and plans to continue doing so in the future.

And the company’s “investment proves vital for our region’s future,” Chamber president Susan Williams said.

Meanwhile, the Library Association is being recognized for its commitment to engage local communities and enhance literacy, the Chamber said.

The Library Association provides access across three locations throughout Venango County (Oil City, Franklin, and Cooperstown) via just one library card and is led by executive director Dan Flaherty.

Williams said the Library Association brings together resources to meet community needs, and she noted that “ensuring access to these services is crucial if businesses wish to have a successful workforce — making this collaboration invaluable.”
