A three-vehicle crash on Route 68 in Monroe Township Tuesday afternoon claimed the lives of Michael Brumbaugh Sr., 64, and his wife, Trudy, 62, both of Clarion. Their son, Michael Jr., 39, and Nancy Andrew Mills, 65, were seriously injured and flown to hospitals. State police said Brumbaugh Sr. was attempting to pass a truck before the road merged when the collision occurred, causing the truck to strike Mills’ vehicle head-on. The truck’s driver, Mark Grolemund, 55, was not injured. Emergency crews worked the scene until late evening.
