Horsethief Days panel did ‘an awesome job,’ looks to 2026

This year’s Horsethief Days in Knox was deemed a success, and the planning committee is already preparing for a major triple-anniversary celebration in 2026 — marking 65 years of Horsethief Days, Knox Borough’s 150th anniversary and America’s 250th birthday. At their recent meeting, members discussed potential changes to the Citizen of the Year award, debated adding new events like a rock-climbing wall, pedal-tractor pulls and a “Power Wheels” derby, and reviewed highlights such as the foam machine, lawn mower races and bike night. They also noted donations and support from community groups and sponsors, while confirming plans to begin serious 2026 festival preparations in January.
