A Cranberry man is facing several charges for allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase in Armstrong County.

Kittanning state police said Kirk Heath, 43, led police on the chase through three counties Sunday afternoon before escaping on foot.

The chase at times exceeded 120 miles per hour, police said.

Heath was later taken into custody in Ford City Borough, according to police.

Heath has been charged with felony counts of kidnap to facilitate a felony, kidnapping-interfere with public official, two counts of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, and numerous misdemeanor and summary counts that include drug charges and traffic violations.

He was arraigned Monday before district judge James Andring and placed in the Armstrong County jail after being unable to post bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 26 in Armstrong County.
