Eagles donate toward fire vests

Oil City Eagles Club members Eric Davison, B.J. Wilson, Scott McClellan and Joe Adams are shown two of the six ballistic vests purchased by the Oil City Fire Department with $2,500 donated by the Eagles. Oil City firefighters and paramedics Derek Long and Bill Lamberton showed the Eagles members how light the vests are and how easy they are to wear. “When we all got started in firefighting, we never thought we’d someday need to wear these vests,” Lamberton said. This is a facet of the department’s “Stop the Bleed” program that also includes working with the Oil City Area School District to better protect children and train them for active-shooter scenarios.
