Franklin budget workshop planned Monday

Franklin City Council will hold its annual budget workshop on Monday, starting at 4 p.m.

In addition to discussing the city’s 2023 budget, the meeting will include final approval of the uses for the city’s 2023 Community Development Block Grant funds.

The public comment period on the use of CDBG funds ends at 4 p.m. Friday.

At the Oct. 3 city council meeting, city manager Tracy Jamieson asked council if the EADS Group could also give a presentation on its findings from the Miller Park storm water study during this Monday’s session.

Council approved the study in August to assess locations where the city might cooperate with the Franklin General Authority to put in new water and storm water lines simultaneously to avoid tearing up the same stretch of road twice.

All three events — budget workshop, CDBG discussion and EADS presentation — will be held in succession starting at 4 p.m. Monday in council chambers.
