A new patrolman joined the Franklin Police Department on Tuesday.
Jacob Young, a 33-year-old graduate of the municipal police training academy based out of Mercyhurst University in Erie, was sworn in Tuesday by police chief Mark London and city manager Tracy Jamieson.
Young is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served overseas on multiple tours from 2002 to 2011 after graduating from Northwestern High School in Erie County.
