Keystone, Redbank students take top 2 spots at STEM event

The Keystone High School team finished first in the recent STEM competition coordinated by Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 and PennWest Clarion. High school students from across the region, including teams from Keystone and Redbank Valley, gathered at PennWest Clarion for the Steelers STEM: Powering Pittsburgh competition, hosted by Riverview IU6 and the university. Keystone placed first and Redbank second in the challenge, which tasked students with designing renewable energy plans to power Pittsburgh or Acrisure Stadium. Judges from PennWest Clarion and Riverview IU6 evaluated their creative models and proposals. Participants also toured the campus and explored STEM career opportunities, with the top teams advancing to the statewide finals later this month at Acrisure Stadium.
