Local trout stocking starts in Justus Lake

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission along with Pathways Adolescent Center students, volunteers and fishing enthusiast participated in the 2026 trout stocking at Two Mile Run County Park’s Justus Lake kicking off the first fish release in northwest PA on Tuesday.

The first trout stocking of the season in northwest Pennsylvania took place Tuesday at Justus Lake in Two Mile Run County Park, where trout from the Corry State Fish Hatchery were released with help from longtime volunteer Jim Black and students from Pathways Adolescent Center as part of a service-learning effort. A waterways conservation officer said stocking numbers are determined by biologists based on each waterway’s capacity, and reminded anglers that trout season remains closed until April 4 to allow the fish time to acclimate.
