Route 257 project to begin next month

A $2.2 million resurfacing project on Route 257 in Cranberry Township is scheduled to begin March 2, weather permitting.

The project covers more than 1.7 miles of Route 257, stretching from the intersection with Route 62 just outside Oil City to the intersection with Main Street in Seneca.

PennDOT said the scope of work includes tree trimming, drainage upgrades, guide rail updates and paving.

IA Construction of Franklin is serving as the contractor for the $2,248,777.77 project, which is being funded entirely by federal funds.

While no detours are expected during the construction period, drivers are advised to remain alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions.

Traffic will be controlled by flaggers during active work hours, and motorists should anticipate travel delays.

The project is slated for completion by July.
