Mercer state police reported that a 26-year-old man died at the scene of a crash at 10:57 a.m. Friday on Petersburg Road where it turns into Sheakleyville Greenville Road in Sandy Creek Township.
Police said Codie Alan King was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling west on Petersburg Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
According to police the vehicle left the south side of the road and struck a tree with the passenger side of the vehicle.
Police said the driver of the vehicle was also injured and transported to a hospital by Lifeforce Ambulance.
PennDOT and Shakeleyville, Jamestown and Greenville fire departments assisted at the scene.
