A Franklin man lead Franklin state police on a vehicle chase then proceeded to turn a hand gun on himself Monday evening.

According to Franklin state police a routine traffic stop was initiated at 5:24 p.m. on Route 8 in Sugarcreek Township.

According to a police report the driver of the vehicle was Marcus Luce, 18, of Franklin.

After Luce failed to stop, he traveled at an excessive rate of speed on Route 417, said a police report.

A male juvenile passenger was in the vehicle during the pursuit but Luce slowed the vehicle enough to let him exit.

Luce then proceeded in the vehicle, again at a high rate of speed where the pursuit led him and police into the city of Franklin, said the report.
