Mercer man faces charges in drug case

From staff reports

A Mercer man is facing charges after he was found under the influence and in possession of drugs in the area of the Wyattville Store on Route 322.

On Friday at about 10:30 a.m., Sugarcreek police said they responded to the parking lot of the store, where they found Daniel Webster, 38, slumped over in the driver seat of his vehicle, according to a criminal complaint.

When police tried to wake Webster, he was confused and showed other signs of impairment, the complaint said.

He was arrested for driving under the influence, the complaint said.

On the passenger seat of the vehicle, police found a clear container of marijuana and a small glass container of methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia, the complaint said.

Webster admitted cocaine in his possession was packaged separately to be delivered to other people, the complaint said.

Webster has been charged with a felony count of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, as well as misdemeanor counts of DUI: controlled substance-impaired ability-first offense, marijuana-small amount personal use, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and BAC .02 or greater second offense.

He was arraigned Friday before District Judge Andrew Fish.
