New cell phone policy only complaint in Titusville’s new school year

The Titusville Area School District reported a smooth start to the school year, though a new “bell-to-bell” cellphone ban at the high school has drawn some complaints from students. Principals across the district praised strong attendance, smooth routines, and enthusiastic staff, with highlights including 100% attendance at Hydetown and Main Street elementary schools, a well-attended middle school tailgate event, and rising meal participation. The Rockets Online Campus continues to grow, serving 470 students from 36 partner districts. Transportation and food services also saw improvements, with efficient bus schedules and increased breakfast and lunch numbers. However, the district is monitoring Pennsylvania’s unresolved state budget impasse, which could soon force schools, including Titusville, to consider loans to cover expenses if funding delays continue. The school board will meet again Sept. 8.
